I am all overthis topic!! I think the article here is a good one. Club and coach selection should be on the forefront of every parent’s mind. It makes ALL the difference in te world.

As we like to say, “the world needs ditch diggers too!” In other words you get out of it what you put into it and you can use the framework of soccer to shape young people’s lives, achieve goals and not just score them and never be afraid to take a shot and miss. When a parent informed us his child of a broken home was not doing well in school and would have to pull out of soccer he was back the following week when the the therapist the kid was seeing said the structure and involvement in soccer was the only thing working for the kid. Are we educators? Not in the traditional sense but we do teach life lessons and provide structure for kids that do not have any at home. If turning a negative into a positive doesn’t make you feel good as a coach, pack it up.
