Thanks for the feedback Kim.

Unfortunately some parents are zombie like when it comes to kids soccer. Not only do they need to get a grip, they need a serious dose of reality. Like you said, it's not the World Cup.

I love this article! I have 3 kids that play competitive soccer for our local club and the parents from our club and other clubs never cease to disgust me with their behavior on the sidelines. My oldest plays on a U12 boys team and just this past weekend they played 3 games in their end of season festival. We were on game 3 and towards the end of the game and kids from both teams were going shoulder to shoulder to get the ball. A parent from the other team started cursing and going off on our player. I was so disgusted! How insecure does this guy have to be to go off on a 12 year old like that? These kids were out there having fun, playing a good game of soccer and he acts like it's the World Cup and his son is THE best out there. C'mon. Some parents need to get a grip!

Love this vision, when we have a latino family come to the park in our neighborhood occasionally my son immediately runs out to join the soccer game. this is exactly what he wants, just to play pick up all day. Wish somebody like AYSO would just have a designated pick up game spot and time- I'd volunteer to just watch and do some grading, make sure no fights break out.
